Matt Brown is a consultant in pain medicine based in London.

Matt fulfilled his long-term interest in clinical research by gaining a National Institute for Health Research’s Academic Clinical Fellowship. This enabled him to conduct novel, award-winning research into pain at both Imperial College and King’s College, London. Subsequently Matt completed a Doctorate in Medicine at the Institute of Cancer Research (becoming the first anesthetist in the Institute’s history to do so and winning the Chairman’s Prize at graduation).

He has broad experience in the field of Cannabis based medicinal products which ranges from advising on the development of basic-science and preclinical processes through to clinical trial design and broader policy adoption and implementation challenges. His research interests include medicinal cannabis, pain in cancer survivors, persistent postsurgical pain and its prevention, transitional pain services, and chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN).
